The Catapult system comprises a unique carbon fiber racket with independent, custom-designed carbon fiber springs that are retained in the outer edge of the frame by the cross strings. When the ball strikes the strings, they flex inwards and allow the ball to plunge deep into the string bed, transferring its energy to the carbon springs.
These then reset much faster on the forward stroke and return energy to the ball, maximizing the player’s control and hitting power and demonstrating the product’s performance. The development of Catapult represents a major step by Völkl along the path of innovation.
